Commnication in relationships

In honor of Valentine's Week lol!

This week we will be learning how to communicate for love, but this can be applied in every area of your life.

I know people say "communication is key" to the point where it has now become a cliche but in fact, it's actually true. If we aren't talking things out with the people around us and clearly express our feelings and what we expect, then we are heading down a path of a lot of hurt.

Communicating how you feel and what you expect in anything is important. By not saying anything or not clearly stating something, we end up misinterpreting things. Communication is the water in any relationship. When you plant a flower, you need the seed, dirt, water, and sunlight. Without one or the other, the flower will not grow.

Your relationship, whether it is between friends, family, coworkers, an intimate relationship, or with a tree... learning these steps will promote a healthy relationship for all parties involved. So here are 5 simple steps to communicate better:

1. First, identify the outcome- meaning what is the problem that needs to be addressed. Then approach your partner.

2. Choose the mode of communication. There are 3 ways to communicate: interpersonal- negotiation style and exchange of information like a conversation, interpretive-is reading and listening between the lines like text messages,, and presentational- is talking through websites, books, etc.

3. Talk to your partner

4. Listen to your partner

5. Determine new ways to solve the problem, or how to handle something.

These five tips will help you to communicate within your relationships and increase the trust between partners.
