Time to Shine

Every season has its purpose. I live in the Northeast of the United States, and we get to experience all four seasons. I was having a conversation with someone and said, “I love fall; this is the best season.” They replied, “Everything is dying.” I responded, “This is a beautiful season because every season serves its purpose.”
Every season serves a purpose, whether we realize it or not. There comes a pivotal moment in everyone’s life when they realize they are special and are ready to shine. If you’ve ever felt invisible or felt like you have a gift to share but shrink back when the opportunity comes, I want to encourage you today: God sees you in every season and every form. He has placed something extraordinary inside of you that is ready to shine.
The light that God has placed within you can shine through any darkness you may be facing. So, what is your darkness? Is it fear, guilt, or defeating thoughts? I want you to know that “Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:4 (NIV). God is with you. And when you know that He is with you and within you, it doesn’t matter how scary the darkness may seem, because His light is guiding you. You have to trust that His light is guiding you always.
So, when you feel like there’s no hope, keep shining. Keep using the gifts God has given you for His glory—and shine anyway. The truth is, we’re going to face challenges in life. Being a disciple of Christ doesn’t mean everything will be rainbows and sunshine. It means that, just as Christ suffered, we will face hardships too. But even then, He still shined through every difficulty.
In Luke 8:16 it says, “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” God has placed a light inside of you, so why are you hiding it? Someone needs to hear your testimony. Someone needs to see your love, your kindness, your self-control, and your faith. Someone needs to see the God in you so that they, too, can shine.
I know what it’s like to cry yourself to sleep. I know what it’s like to battle defeating thoughts. But through my darkness, Jesus is my light. I write this to encourage you to shine through the darkness so others may see that they, too, can overcome.
I hope this encourages you and blesses you.
Until next time, be blessed!
Love,
Mahalia 💛💛
