Are You Listening To Your Heart?

Hey guys, and welcome back to Mahalia's Inspirations. Today's message is to remind you to listen to that little voice inside you.  The expression goes "listen to your heart". But as we know, the heart doesn't talk or guide you. What people are referring to is your intuition, also known as the voice of God!  So, I ask you: Are you listening to your intuition? It's that small voice that seems to come from nowhere and guides you to know information or awareness of something that you necessarily don't know how you know.

Some call this your guide, some call it your intuition, some call it your higher self, and others say it's the voice of God. Don't get caught in the names and where the name is derived from, but focus on the purpose of it, because everything in this world correlates to one another.

The point of this message is for you to activate and be sensitive to that still small voice that's inside of you.

The definition of intuition is "a thing that one knows or considers likely from instinctive feeling rather than conscious reasoning," According to Merriam-Webster dictionary. Another definition is "a direct perception of fact, truth, etc., perceived in this way. or a keen and quick insight." According to Dictionary.com.  Listening to your intuition is important, and I'm going to give you some techniques you can use to strengthen it or to be more sensitive to hearing it.  Have you ever gotten into an argument with someone and 10 minutes later, after you CALMED down, you feel led to apologize? That is an example of following your heart. When you see someone in distress and you help that person in need, that is following your heart. Or when you have a passion and desire to do something when everyone else seems to be against you, and you follow your passion- that is listening to your heart. So, what is your heart telling you to do today? Right now, at this very moment!? Maybe you've been putting off something that you need to address. You have been feeling overwhelmed and weighed down with pressure, and your heart is tell

ing you to rest, and you're ignoring your intuition.  Some techniques you can use to be more aware of your intuition are:

1. Get Quiet- Spend time in quiet- meditating and listening to that small, still voice.

2. Silence Your Ego- This will allow you to differentiate between the mind and your spirit.

3. Body Awareness- Practicing how your body feels through each moment of the day will equip you to be in-tune with yourself.

4. Ask Questions—Asking yourself questions, looking for signs, and then taking the time to be still and listen is a good exercise for strengthening your tuition.

5. Get Creative- Being involved in creative activities that stir your passion and dreams is a way to test your intuition skills. For example, while writing this blog, I use my intuition to listen to what is the most important message to share with you guys.

I hope these tools help you to be sensitive to that small still voice and trust in that as your guidance. For the scripture says Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. ( Proverbs 3:5–6). See you next time, may God bless, protect, and guide you in Jesus' name Amen.
