You're Beautiful

I want you to take a moment to think or write down something that you think is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen. And ask yourself these two questions.  Why do you think it’s beautiful?  And how does it make you feel? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, anything can be seen as beautiful, because it all depends on perception and opinions. But what you think beauty is, may not be my definition of beauty. However, I can tell you a secret: in God’s eyes, we are all beautiful and that's a fact.   

 "Dearest father my closest friend, most beautiful" are the lyrics to a song. I encourage you guys to listen to this beautiful song called Most Beautiful by Maverick city. It also says, “There are no words, there nothing left, so our love sings to you." One interpretation of the song is that it is expressing how to love God and how we think he is beautiful. But an interpretation I see while listening to this song is the perspective of God on you. Do you know God thinks you’re beautiful? Every imperfection you think makes you less than worthy, he thinks it makes you more than.  God is saying he is so in love with you, you are beautiful! Just dwell on those words. Go right now to the closest mirror or camera and look at yourself, what do you see? Love on yourself, say I love my eyes, I love my lips, I love my body, and I love my hair, because God loves every part of you. There is nothing on you or in you that he doesn’t think is beautiful. Even the darkest and most painful areas, he will shine light on and love you and turn those ashes into beauty if you let him. Let’s refer back to the exercise in the beginning of today’s blog: what you thought about when you closed your eyes, what beautiful thing came to mind... that beautiful thing is you. How you feel towards that image is how God feels towards you. Do you see how incredible you are? God is saying you are beautiful; he’s captivated by you.  Who you are makes his heart throb, especially when you take the time to talk to him or sing to him or do anything with him in mind. He says look at that my friend, that’s my love. Allow his presence to enter your life right now.  Beauty is something we can’t take our eyes off; it’s something that is precious and valuable to us. That is exactly how God see’s us. He thinks we are beautiful and great. I hope this encourages you to realize how beautiful you are and how marvelous God thinks of you. Until next time!
