Who is Mahalia.....??

Who is Mahalia.....?!?

Well, let me tell you who she is:

Mahalia Leighan Anderson was a premature baby born at 23 and a half weeks on October 5th, 1998. Yes, you've guessed it, she's only 20 years old. From birth, she has been labeled disabled, mentally challenged, intellectually disabled and more. She's been abused, experienced bullying, depression, loss, and confusion about life.

Now that you have met the old Mahalia, let me reintroduce you to the Mahalia now. My story is a story of victory, a story of an overcomer, and a story of beauty. Get to know me and how I share overcoming adversaries. I'm a healthy psychology major at Western Connecticut State University and I'm working as a teacher's assistant at a daycare center. I'm a youth praise team worship leader, an aunty, a  big sister, a friend, a believer, a blogger, and a motivational speaker. I have learned to take what people have labeled me to be as well as all the pain and baggage that it comes with and transform it into good.

Now, what are some of the things, names or titles that people have tried to label you as? Some of you, just like me, have been labeled, belittled, forced into a box, and your ability for greatness has almost been limited. But I tell you, my friends, that you don't have to be defined and limited to those labels and those name tags. Nor do you have to be confined into a box that will eventually crush you until you're no longer able to survive. I tell  you that you're an OVERCOMER. You are BEAUTIFUL and this is not the end of your JOURNEY! This is just the BEGINNING... EMBRACE your story and ENJOY the RIDE.

Please share, comment, and subscribe I would love to hear from you guys, your stories and feedback inspire me to keep going.

~Love  Mahalia
