What does it mean to have faith?
Why is faith important?
Good morning! We are waking up with faith. God has given every human being on this planet a measure of faith. We are all created with an unconscious awareness of God with worship being apart of our nature. Because of sin, this original intention was sabotaged, which is why so many people come up with all these substitutes for worship, such as meditation, yoga, embracing nature, worshipping the sun and moon, and all these other gods. But I'm telling you there is only one God. That is God(Jehovah) of Israel, and his son is named Jesus in which they are one. God doesn't call for religion but He calls for relationships. Many of us have a platonic or intimate relationship. God's desire is for an intimate relationship with us, where we can connect and dwell in his presence. Have you ever encountered someone or an animal and just loved being around them? The same thing goes for God with humans; he wants us to have a relationship where we can call one another reliable friends.
What does it mean to have faith? Faith is your belief system. Having faith gives you strength, and it gives you something to hold on to while you're waiting for your manifestation to occur. Having faith is more than just believing, but to have faith means you can rely on, trust, and depend on something. Faith requires work! You can't just have faith and expect a blind miracle to happen, you must put in some work as well. For example, if you're doing a difficult task and you're struggling but someone comes along and says you can do it, you're going to believe that you can do it. This will encourage you to keep going and it will boost your self-worth. Having faith is power.
Faith is hard, but it's not impossible; it takes practice and growth. The good thing is that you can exercise faith every day because there is always room to grow. It doesn't take much either. Jesus said, "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed" (Matthew 17:20) you can have confidence in anything to pursue and accomplish the things in your life.
This leads me to my next point on the different types of faith. You can have physical faith and spiritual faith. Physical faith is faith in the things you can see, touch, hear, smell, and taste. For exam
ple, a chair. If you sit in a chair you believe that it will hold you, but spiritual faith is believing in the things you cannot see with the natural eye and it doesn't involve your five senses. Believing in your dreams is having faith. Your dreams are something that has not happened yet, but you believe they will happen, The air that we all breath cannot be seen, touched, smelled or tasted, but we believe and know it exists.
The same concept applies to God. We know he exists, but we also have faith he exists and that he is our friend because he has proven himself. "Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" (Hebrews 11:6.) Faith is knowing wholeheartedly that whatever you are expecting will come to pass. Having faith in anything keeps your sanity intact, but its also good to have faith in Jesus. It is your hope and your coping mechanism for the hardships and tribulations of life. Faith is a resource not a ritual.
