UpRoot

Was there ever a time where you felt like you were being completely uprooted from everything you knew and was familiar with? When I graduated high school I knew I wanted to go to college but honestly I had no idea where. I guess it seems to be a familiar story that most have. I felt so lost and not prepared because my peers knew exactly what they wanted and I just felt stuck.  I knew I had a bright future and knew exactly what I wanted to study but to leave home... I guess I was just too afraid to venture out. I just didn't have that yearning desire like most to leave the nest, which gave me anxiety and doubts.

Going from high school honors and AP classes where there are rules and structure to college where it's completely on you! I felt like my life was UP-ROOTED.  To be up-rooted means completely removed from one area to another.   God had uprooted me for his purpose, God has a way of transitioning you so he can equip you for work. But it doesn't mean it has to be necessarily bad. It can just be a way to get our attention.  For example, this current pandemic,...this coronavirus has shifted everyone's lives all over the planet. I mean  I went from having a job for two years to suddenly in a blink of an eye not having a job, my classes all going online.  And at the age of 21, I was thinking about how am I going to pay for my student loans, my phone bill, then I started worrying about how are my parents going to pay for this mortgage. This pandemic was an up-root, it interfered with so many people that we just have no idea what to do or even who to trust; Paul said "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable" 1 corinthians 15:19 KJV.  That tells me even when life is crazy and I feel uprooted or at a standstill I still have hope in Christ that he is preparing, covering, and building a fight within me to do more than what I could've imagined.

So I want to encourage you and tell you that this is your up-root season, to take everything that you have learned, and use it for your purpose. Being uprooted or even transitioned does not mean its the end but rather the beginning of something greater. This is the time where everything you believed in your heart that you are capable of will come to pass. Your dreams, desires, wishes, wants whatever you want to call it; your destiny is springing forward right before your eyes. This moment is the time to get quiet before God and get creative. Seek God to know your hidden talents and if you know it, take a leap and go for it.  For me, my wants and desires are to do what God had called me to do and be, and be an amazing woman who tells others how amazing they are, and to remind them with God nothing is impossible. That dream to be married, have that house, that dream to have that job, to have a better living for your self and family members, etc. It's not too far but it's in your grasp, it's in the palm of your hands.
