New You, New Everything

Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to Mahalia’s Inspirations. I am so glad that you're here with me; today's blog is just an inspirational message.

Reflection: Reflect on these questions to yourself.

Are you wearing a mask?

•How do you see yourself?

•How do others see you?

•Where are you currently on your journey?

•Where are you being led to?

Let's look at the story of Moses; Moses is an excellent example of finding your identity and knowing who you are in Christ. Moses grew up as an Egyptian, but he was born as a Hebrew. He grew up in a family that loved and cared for him; he grew up with the customs of the Egyptians and didn't know any other life. Until one day, Moses realized that he was not born an Egyptian but Hebrew. Now you can imagine the confusion and anger he must have felt. You can say his world was crashing down, and everything Moses once knew was a lie. You can also theorize and argue that he felt bitter because of the time and memories he didn't get to have. Now what I want to point out is Moses had two identities at this point and two paths to choose. He could have denied the path that God was calling him toward and be the prince of Egypt or denounce the life of riches and lead his people out of slavery. What are your two paths to choose from?  At this very moment, you can choose to stay stuck, to stay in fear, to stay in the life that is comfortable for you even when you know you are screaming for a change. Or option two: choosing to follow the life God wants for you. Choosing to embrace the unknown and accept good things into your life. The passage of scripture says that when Moses fled Egypt, he went far away and needed time to rest. This point of Moses' journey was pivotal because when God has called you to do something new, you have to strip yourself of everything that is holding you back from reaching your destiny.  Moses was lost, and He needed guidance. God had to remake Moses over and give him a new identity. Moses was in a place I like to call rest. He needed to,

1. Get his emotions in order

2. Learn the custom of the Jews

3. Develop a relationship with God

4. Be in a place of positioning.

Moses could not face the pharaoh and do what God asked of him until he was ready. He had to deal with the darkness of himself. In other words, he had to deal with the brokenness, the trauma, the abandonment, and the confusion. Then understand who God was in his life.

Today's title is New You, New Everything.

I ask you, what do you have to strip away or let go of to become the new person you are in Christ. When you say yes to God, everything around you changes. Moses had to say goodbye to the life he once knew, and he also had to say goodbye to the fear and guilt that were holding him back.  But he gained so much more in the end. I encourage you to look at your identity and how you are evolving into the person God is calling you to venture out. It's time to wake up from your rest; you have learned everything you need to know. You have dealt with the trauma of your past; now it is time to face it and move forward into greatness. God has placed gifts and talents inside you; he’s providing resources and people to help you. Now you need to take a leap of faith and go to work. Everything around you is about to change. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

This new you will require you to adapt to your new environment. You cannot expect miracles and breakthroughs to happen while still carrying burdens; or not fully trusting God to reign in your life. Are you ready to embrace this new chapter? Are you prepared to say goodbye to the old you and hello to the new you? If you said yes, repeat this affirmation: “I accept and embrace new wins and territories into my life.  I say goodbye to everything holding me back from the life God has for me. Today I am a new creation, and good things are heading my way.” I want to end today's blog with this song by Tye Tribbett called New. Let this song speak to your heart and have an excellent rest of the week.
